1. Introduction

SimplifyC++, available at simplifycpp.org, publishes educational articles, books, examples, and resources primarily about C and C++ programming. This policy explains the information that may be collected when you use the site, how it may be used, and the choices available to you.

2. Information you provide

You may voluntarily provide information when you email us, subscribe to a newsletter, send feedback, or request support. This may include your name, email address, and the contents of your message. You do not need to provide personal information merely to read public articles or resources.

Our hosting, security, analytics, and advertising services may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps, cookie identifiers, and information used for security, measurement, fraud prevention, and advertising.

SimplifyC++ also maintains first-party aggregate counters. To distinguish repeat visits, the site may create a one-way hash from limited request data such as an IP address and browser user agent. The raw values are not intentionally stored in the visitor counter tables.

SimplifyC++ uses or may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and performance. Analytics tags are configured to respect Google consent signals. Google Analytics may receive device, browser, interaction, approximate-location, and cookie or consent-related information according to the visitor’s choices and Google’s policies.

8. Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Where required, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a message from Google’s Consent Management Platform or another Google-certified CMP. The message may provide controls for storing or accessing information on a device, personal-data processing, ad personalization, measurement, vendors, and consent withdrawal.

The site initializes Google Consent Mode with advertising and analytics storage denied in these regions until the CMP reports an appropriate choice.

Some US privacy laws provide opt-out rights regarding targeted advertising or activities legally defined as selling or sharing personal information. SimplifyC++ does not directly sell personal information for money. Where required, privacy controls supplied through Google Privacy & messaging may provide applicable opt-out choices.

Information may be used to operate and secure the site, deliver articles and books, respond to messages, maintain subscriptions, diagnose problems, measure performance, improve content and navigation, display and measure ads, detect abuse and invalid traffic, protect legal rights, and comply with applicable obligations.

Limited information may be processed by hosting providers, security providers, newsletter services, technical service providers, analytics providers, advertising and measurement partners including Google, and authorities or advisers when disclosure is legally required. These providers may process information under their own policies and obligations.

If you subscribe, your email address may be used to send SimplifyC++ article, book, and website updates. You may unsubscribe through an available unsubscribe link or by emailing info@simplifycpp.org. Newsletter addresses are not sold.

13. Retention and security

Information is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, or subscription management. We use reasonable safeguards, but no Internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Third-party services apply their own retention practices.

SimplifyC++ is a general programming-education site and is not intentionally directed to children below the minimum legal age in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child submitted personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us for review and, where appropriate, deletion.
